To market, to market, jiggedy jig!!!

GS-Full-Quilt-PicThis is Gingerbread Square!  Happy, happy Christmas quilt made with HAPPY fabric from my new line of fabric for Lecien!  I LOVE this quilt!!  I’ve always been a sucker for gingerbread houses….and Christmas village houses….the only problem I could see with them is that they didn’t have furniture and stuff inside when you look through the windows! I would give my right arm for a Christmas village house with real little windows, rooms, furnishings and lights………..BUT, enough about me!

We’re almost finished with the new patterns (all 23 of them, YIKES!!) so that we can release them at Spring Quilt Market in Portland, OR.  We’ve proofread those puppies so many times……it’s all starting to blur together……..”Do we have the right fish diagrams on the gingerbread house quilt???”  ”Did we put the floss colors for the Christmas ornaments on the Autumn’s Call pattern???”  Yeah, it’s almost that bad!! hahaha!!  We’ll have all the new stuff up on the website as soon as we get home from market.  It’s priority #1!!

We’ll have two booths at market this time…(there was no really good way to display zippity do dah Christmas with vintage fishing and autumn)….They’ll be across the aisle from one another right across from Lecien and Lynette Anderson’s booths…#1708 and #1709.  If you’re going to market be sure and come visit us!!

I’m finishing up painting the booth number signs today and Jon is making the North Pole…yes…the actual “pole”. Heidi is cutting kits for Hook, Line & Sinker, and Jonn-o is putting the finishing touches on the Gingerbread Square pattern covers. Laura and Kate are working away at shipping……………Honeybunny is asleep in the sun……….wow, wouldn’t it be nice to be a cat???  Anyway, all of us except HB are trying our best to keep everything on track and on time.  I think that after market there’s going to be an uprising around here about how many patterns we can put out at one time in the future though….It could get ugly….pitchforks….torches…..you get the picture.  Wish me luck! LOL!!

We Have A Winner!!

THANK YOU to everybody who sent names for the new quilt!!!!  They were all great and it was hard to choose a winner!  I’ve LOVED and collected Shiny Brite ornaments for over 20 years…..soooooooo…..when I saw “Shiny & Brite” as one of the suggested names????? It was too good to pass up!  Thank you Lyn Blake for “Shiny & Brite”, your name will be on the new pattern and we’ll be sending you the fat 1/4 bundle of the Snowflake fabric line next week!  Also….Lisa DuVall Schmitz sent in the name “Shiny Brite” so you’ll be receiving the fat 1/4 bundle also!!  NOW!!  I have to get started writing that pattern!

ALSO!…..I know I’ve made promises lately about doing a Youtube video showing the crayon tinting technique.  It was supposed to be ready last week but we ended up having some emergencies here that bumped it TOTALLY out of our queue.  Let’s see….we had a big BIG new copier delivered that made it necessary to do re-wiring and re-shuffling of our printing area.  We’re still in the middle of construction mess this weekend as the printing room is having to move into a storeroom….and the storeroom is moving…..well…..all over the place….and stuff is being built and a window is being put in….a different ceiling…etc…  I’ve been going through the stuff coming out of the storeroom and doing the old “throw out, give away, find a place for it” thing.  Add to that sewing the new quilts so they can be sent to the quilter, working on the new patterns, and just the everyday stuff that goes on here….and THAT’S my big excuse for not getting the videos done.  Maybe I just should have said “the dog ate it”???  OH! I forgot the best part!!!  We had septic system problems on Monday & Tuesday…..geez, I could have just said THAT and it would have been a good enough excuse! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Gingerbread Square

Yeah!! What would be better for Victorian Gingerbread houses…..than GINGERBREAD houses????? The pattern will be released in May at Spring International Quilt Market. Or…I should say “Patterns” plural….it will be a Block of the Month because we’re starting to do more/larger color images and diagram type stitching directions. They’ll be much easier to follow, but they take up a lot more room. The fish quilt, “Hook, Line and Sinker”, will be released at the same time. Gingerbread Square will be make with my new fabric line (the fabric just arrived today…it’s on facebook!) so as soon as it’s sewn together we’ll get a picture and I’ll post it. I’ll also have another one….it’s not named yet….a vintage-y ornament wreath…that will be a small quilt too with the new fabric. Busy, busy, busy!!!! Hope you like all of them!HookLineSinker 1500
